About me

I am researcher and full time professor at the Instituto de Estadística of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile.

I received the Engineer’s degree in Informatics, Master of Science degree and PhD degree from the Departamento de Informática at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso-Chile.

My research interests and works are aimed at Machine Learning techniques and Unstructured data mining problems. More specifically my work is divided into three groups:

  • Clustering methods: Single pass data clustering, Distributed and Multi-view clustering.

  • Text processing: Natural Language Processing methods and text classification.

  • Deep models for text data. Lately, I’ve been focusing on the use of deep learning models for text data, specially in the contexto of healthcare applications.
